2 – 2 January 2010 : Doctor Who and The End Of Time

I have just installed the WordPress app on my ipod touch, so this post is experimental.

Thinking it over, the Christmas and New Year Doctor Who special (The End Of time) was a major disappointment. David Tennant was a great Doctor, and Russell T Davies has done so well to revive the series. However, this story was slow and overblown. The way the last 20 minutes or so turned into David Tennant’s farewell tour was just mawkish.

A real shame. But now the series has a new start. A new Doctor, and a new series producer. Stephen Moffatt has written some of the best stories, Blink and The Girl In The Fireplace being examples. So I remain optimistic.

  1. I’m a HUGE Dr. Who fan and have been since they started playing the Baker episodes over here in the states. (I really enjoyed the Sylvester McCoy run.) I’ve loved Tenant in the role and the last 3 or 4 years have been more good than bad.
Having said that, I have only seen the first half of THE END OF TIME and found it pretty drawn out, mish-mashed and ludicrous even by Who standards.
